Common Sense - 09-14-09

Ok, This is a new type of blog that I'm going to start posting. As I have time I will be typing these and hoping people read them. If you do read it, please leave your comments. I would like to debate the issues. I intend to start locally, but I will address things on a national level as needed.

It I can get enough people on my side, then maybe we can change things locally, and nationally.
Not everything I post under the common sense blogs will be "political", but most of it will be. There are a few "non-political" things that I would like to address from time to time too that just don't seem to make sense. I'm going to start my blog with one of the non-political ideas.
This deals with the powers in charge of a local business, the Giant Center in Hershey PA. This is run by a division of HERCO, and like most things in HERCO, its not run the best. I've been a huge Hershey Bears fan for years, and I've gone to a lot of games. Every year they run team autograph nights. These nights just aren't run properly at all.
Over the last few years, as the Bears keep doing good, the number of fans attending the games keeps increasing. Due to this more and more fans want to get the autographs of the players. Hershey advertises that they will open two sections to enter the ice, but never do. Then once everyone is down on the ice, you have to form lines at each player, and wait in those lines. This just doesn't make sense. There is no way for anyone to get every player's autograph. What are some common sense things to do?
Well, open one path to get on the ice, and one to get off. Then have everyone form a line, and head down to the ice. Once on the ice you just keep in that line and follow it around the ice to each player. This ONE line would move a lot faster then a ton of jumbled lines going back and forth on the ice. I know that there is a good chance that if you are at the back of the line you may not get the autographs, but that is a chance fans would have to take.
Another thing that would make sense, at least to me, is when time runs out. Right now with all the small lines, once time runs out people are cut off, and forced off the ice. If they formed one line, and it went around to all players, you could cut that line off when it was time, and let everyone on the ice finish getting autographs. If you want the player to be done on time then you could also cut the line coming onto the ice off a little earlier.

Now I can't post this blog without putting anything political into it. So for today just think of this, are the politicions doing what's in your best interest? If not contact them and tell them. Will they listen to just one, probably not, but if enough people complain they will be forced to listen.
Do you think the politicions are doing what is best for our country, and our national debt? I don't, if you don't then again please contact them. If we all bana together and make our voices heard they will have no choice but to listen to us.
